Mr. Yong is a well-known management consultant in the Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Yong has been a Technical Expert for the Asian Productivity Organization ( Japan ), for the past 19 years. In his assignments for APO , he has provided consulting and training services in the areas of Quality Management System (ISO 9000), Environmental Management System (ISO 14000), Social Accountability Management System (SA 8000), Total Quality Management, Quality Improvement Techniques and QC Circle (SGA) activities to National Quality and Productivity organizations.

He is the Managing Director of QMC Malaysia. Through QMC Malaysia, he has assisted more than 300 organizations in obtaining certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SA 8000, GMP and HACCP (Hazards Analysis & Critical Control Points) System. He is a Quality System Consultant registered with the Malaysian national accreditation authority (MRCA) and a HACCP Consultant with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia .

Mr. Yong is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) and the FIRST Certified HACCP Auditor (CHA) in this region.

As an Australian-licensed Total Quality Management (TQM) Consultant, he is also registered as a Senior Management Consultant (SMC) with the RABQSA International. He is a trained SA 8000 (Social Accountability Management System) Lead Auditor.

Mr. Yong's experience has been gained from consulting and training assignments and presentation of papers in Japan , USA , Australia , Taiwan , Hong Kong , Singapore , Thailand , Philippines , Indonesia , Pakistan , Nepal , Fiji and Vietnam .

His hands-on exposure in quality management earned him the following credentials:

•  Senior Member & Country Representative (International Chapter) to the American Society for Quality (ASQ)

•  Technical Expert & Life Member of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO)

•  Founder Member, (past) President and Fellow of the Institute of Quality Malaysia (IQM)

•  Member of the Advisory Committee to the National Total Quality Control Secretariat , Malaysia

Mr. Yong is also an ASQ CQMgr APPROVED instructor, Chief Proctor for ASQ Examinations in Malaysia and Vietnam, and ASQ Recertification Reviewer for Malaysia & surrounding region.

Mr. Yong is a tutor of Lead Auditor Training Courses and conducts system audits for several international certification bodies.

In his earlier years of quality education, Mr. Yong has received training and instructions under Quality Gurus like Dr. A.V. Feigenbaum, Dr. J. M. Juran and Dr. K. Ishikawa. He majors in Mechanical Engineering and has completed post-graduate studies in Behavioral Science in Management, Human Resource Management and Financial Management.
