from the AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR QUALITY (ASQ)

as a CERTIFIED
SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT (CSSGB)

((A Six Sigma Green Belt is a para-professional, who in support of or under the supervision of a Six Sigma Black Belt, analyzes and solves quality problems and is involved in quality improvement projects. A Six Sigma Green Belt is someone with at least three years of work experience who wants to demonstrate his or her knowledge of Six Sigma tools and processes ……as defined by ASQ).

ASQ AND CERTIFICATION

ASQ has been the leading quality improvement organization in the United States for more than 50 years. It is acknowledged as a world-renowned organization, which advances individual, organizational, and community excellence worldwide through learning, quality improvement, and knowledge exchange.

Since 1968, when ASQ started its first certification examinations, more than 90,000 individuals have become certified through ASQ. More than forty countries offer ASQ's programs as their method for certification. The certification examinations are even conducted in Japanese, Chineses and Spanish. Sites for ASQ certification examinations are located all over the world, including Malaysia.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of QMC's program on CERTIFIED SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT program, participants are expected to have the ability to:

  • Lead teams in applying the Six Sigma D-M-A-I-C methodology
  • Define improvement projects to satisfy the customer
  • Measure inputs and outputs to provide meaningful data
  • Analyze data to identify the root cause of variability
  • Improve the process to reduce variability
  • Control the process to prevent backsliding and consolidate the gains
  • Sit for the external ASQ CSSGB certification examination

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

This program comprises 82 CONTACT HOURS of learning through lectures, group workshops, questions and answers and review sessions. It is divided into seven modules, comprising of five tutorial sessions, one 4-hour examination session and one final review session. Sessions will be held for 12 days. A full-day tutorial session is 6.0 hours, from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm .

PROGRAM PREREQUISITES

All wishing to attend the program must be proficient in English. Those who wish to sit for the ASQ CMQ / OE examination must be proficient in English.

Those who wish to sit for the ASQ CSSGB examination (which is a four-hour, 100 multiple-choice questions examination) must have at least 3 years working experience.

PROGRAM LEADERS

As this program is “intensive” and “straight-to-the-point”, consultants leading the sessions are selected based on experience and expertise in the specific topics. They are practitioners who are academically / professionally qualified and ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt / Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence.

The program director overseeing / leading the program is Mr. Yong Kok Seng.

Mr. Yong is the Country Councilor (Representative) of Malaysia to the International Chapter of the ASQ. He is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality / Organization Excellence / Senior Member / Charter Member of numerous ASQ Divisions / Recertification Chair Reviewer for Malaysia . He is an ASQ Approved Instructor.

He is a Quality Management Consultant under the Technical Expert Scheme of the Asian Productivity Organization (JAPAN), a Technical Expert & Life Member of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization, and an Australian licensed TQM Consultant. He is a registered Senior Management Consultant of the RABQSA International, and a Founder Member of the World Quality Council. He is a Founder Member, past President, and Fellow of the Institute of Quality Malaysia .

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

Pre-test, questions and quizzes (with model answers), lectures, group workshops and discussions, and post-test will be used to enable participants to grasp the program contents more effectively. Assignments will be given out from time to time

TRAINING MATERIALS


Up-to-date and comprehensive hard-copy of training materials / handouts will be given to each participant. E-copies of additional reading and reference materials are provided

INTERNAL EXAMINATION & AWARD OF QMC 's CERTIFICATE

An internal examination will be conducted at the end of the program. There will be four grades of performance (Distinction, Credit, Pass or Fail) on the results of the internal examination. A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to participants who pass the examination.

Others who fail will receive a Certificate of Attendance. Maximum of 1 re-sit is allowed for participants who fail the examination.

EXTERNAL ASQ CSSGB EXAMINATION

Participants who have successfully completed this program and / or meet the requirements of ASQ will be assisted in their application to sit for the ASQ CSSGB Examination. The external examination fees payable to the ASQ will be borne by participants. (Note: ASQ CSSGB examination fee is USD 305 for Nonmember of ASQ and USD 155 for ASQ Member).

Verification of application, examination center (in Penang ) and proctorship will be arranged for participants.

HRDF TRAINING GRANT - SBL

Companies who have contributed to the HRDF are encouraged to apply for training grant from the HRDF under the SBL Scheme. Interested companies are required to fill up the SBL application form and submit to the HRD Council together with the necessary supporting documents BEFORE the commencement of the program. Applicants can liaise with us for advice.

SPECIAL IN-HOUSE TRAINING

Companies who have many participants for this program may enquire about conducting it on an in-house basis.
